Peter, Sawyer and I spent yesterday at Bay Beach. I was unsure as to how Sawyer would do on the kid rides that we could not go on w/ him. I was worried that he would try to stand up or climb out (he does that all the time w/ the quarter slot rides at Chuck E Cheese). Despite my concerns, Sawyer did very well. We had a few incidences where he tried to take off his seat belt, was steering his “neighbor’s” steering wheel and grabbing the tires on the race car ride. Pretty much all the other children were doing the same things so I wasn’t too worried about it.
It was funny listening to all the parent’s, including ourselves, standing behind the fence yelling to our children to do this or do that. I think the boats were the biggest “problem” ride because the kids kept putting their hands in the water. I think the temptation was too great . . . they just couldn’t help but to touch the water.
We were planning to go to the nature preserve across the street from Bay Beach but after 4+ hours of rides and our picnic lunch, we were all pretty tired and decided to head for home. It only took Sawyer about 5 seconds in his car seat before he fell asleep.
I don’t have any pictures of our Bay Beach day. I didn’t want to lug my big camera around and I couldn’t find my little camera. I hope I find it . . . I may have left it at my parent’s cabin. We plan to go there today so hopefully it will be waiting for me.
I hope everyone has a safe and fun Labor Day Weekend.
Oh, how fun! I’m glad Sawyer enjoyed his time at Bay Beach.
We brought the kids there for Father’s day and they absolutely enjoyed it. Jordan’s fave was pony ride, the airplane ride, and the train. Of course, he did enjoy all the rides he went to.
It sounds like you all had a great time. I think I even had to touch the water when I road on that boat ride. It’s the natural thing to do I guess
I think, to top off the whole bay beach experiance, I had to get some cotton candy. It must be my own little tradition
Kimmy – We also had the tradition of getting cotton candy. We considered getting some for Sawyer but decided all the sugar wasn’t a great idea . . . we will get some for him next year.
I guess there’s just something about that cotton candy
