Today, Cailey turned three months old. She weighs eleven pounds and is 23 1/2 inches long. At Cailey’s two month doctor appointment, the nurse measured her at 24 inches but I think she measured wrong. I re-measured Cailey a few times today and never reached 24 inches. I guess there is the possibility that she shrunk over the last month
Cailey giggled for the first time yesterday. She giggled at daycare when Melody (her child care provider) was tickling her. Once home, I tried to get her to giggle but I could not. I feel sad that I was not the person to hear her first giggle.
Cailey has certainly discovered her hands. She is always holding her hands together, looking at them, putting them in her mouth and holding onto things (blankets, clothes, etc.). Cailey is also keeping up with her wiggling. When she lies on her back, she will bend her knees, plant her feet flat onto the ground and then push her legs straight. This moves her up a couple inches. She will do this over and over again. She roams off of her blankets, play mats and all around her crib. She’s even pushed herself into the rails of the crib or the head board of the changing table and given herself a little bump.
Cailey has continued to roll over from her tummy to her back. She does not enjoy tummy time and often times will cry. I’ve started laying some toys in front of her but she does not yet seem to be very interested. She is mostly interested in lights, sound, people and her hands.

Cailey - 3 Months
Wow, three months already!? It so awesome that she’s starting to giggle. I can’t hear a little baby giggle with out giggling myself.
)
She sounds like she’s really working out her muscles moving all over her crib. Maybe she’ll be an early crawler.
I’m always amazed when I see pictures of Cailey because she looks so feminine already. It seems to me like some babies just look like…babies when they are really little (I guess that’s why so many people ask if it is a boy or girl sometimes even if they are decked out in all blue or all pink !
There is no mistaking Cailey with her big pretty eyes!
I was reading Kelley’s comment and thinking, maybe I have one of those babies that just looksl ike a baby because I’ll go to church with her all dressed up in hter lace pink dresses and Myra will still be mistaken for a boy. But then again, it’s the same older gentleman that makes the same mistake, so maybe it’s just him…
Anyway, that’s great that Cailey is getting more and more moble. Hopefully she finds her toys more interesting soon and doesn’t mind tummy time so much.
Reading what you said about Cailey not giggling for you at home reminded me of Myra when she was young like that. We would make her giggle about something one time, and not get her to giggle about the same thing the next time. It was so frustrating. She’d just lay there all tense and holding her breather rather than giggling, or she would just act like we were doing anything at all with her.
But don’t worry, one day she’ll giggle all the time at almost everything with little effert on your part. She’ll be a very happy girl who loves to show it all the time
Are you taking Sawyer to the Day With Thomas thing again this year? We were thinking about going on the 14th.
Kelley – Yes! We are also going to the Day With Thomas on the 14th. You can order train tickets online ahead of time (and then pick them up when you get there). Have you bought train tickets yet? We have not. It would be fun to buy tickets for the same train ride.
We were looking at the 2:30 time slot. All the earlier times look like they’ve already sold out. Would that time work for you guys?
Yep, 2:30 p.m. works for us. I will buy tickets as soon as I get home from work.
Sawyer will be so happy to have Sophie along with us. Peter’s brother and his son will also be coming going.
It will be a fun day. Sophie will really like it.
Kelley – We bought our tickets for the 2:30 train ride.
FYI, last year we spent at least four hours there. I think we could easily spend more time this year since Sawyer is older.
Girls, girls… wait up! I was just talking to Jeb about the Thomas the Train ride today and then saw your girls comments. How much is the tickets? We might consider going to it this year. I know Jordan will like that very much.
Are the tickets sold out? Where can we get the tickets?
Laurie – The event is at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay. Tickets are $18 per person (2 years and up). When you order the tickets online, there is an additional $2.50 or so fee per ticket. It is expensive, but it is a fun day if you like trains.
Below is the link to the National Railroad Museum. From there you can follow the Day with Thomas links to buy tickets.

The train museum has a lot of actual trains that people can go in/on. This is standard at the museum. For the Day with Thomas, they bring in the life size Thomas and Sir Topham Hatt. They also have free tattoos, giant Thomas puzzles, an audience participation show (singing and such), huge model train sets (only for watching), giant Lego Thomas that the kids can sit in, a giant sand box area, etc.
They have Thomas the train rides every 45 minutes and you have to buy a ticket to ride the train and to get into the event. When you buy the ticket, you buy it for a specific train ride time. A lot of the times are already sold out. We bought our tickets for the 2:30 p.m. train ride. You can either plan to spend hours before the ride having fun or start out with the ride and then stay for hours after the ride.
Amy- we bought our tickets for 2:30 as well. I’m so excited. I don’t know whether to tell Sophia ahead of time or wait and surprise her!
Kelley – We are waiting to tell Sawyer. For a two-year-old, a week is like a lifetime. We will probably just surprise him.
