Today I registered Sawyer for kindergarten. Sawyer is very excited about school (especially now since he saw the 4K class playing in the gym). I have a feeling that I will be hearing, “Mom. Do I get to go to Kindergarten today?” quite often. However, Sawyer starting school means that he is growing up and that is something that makes me sad.
Sawyer will be a young kindergartener. He will turn five less than two weeks before the school year begins. My only big concern is that Sawyer will be going from a fairly schedule-free day to a fully scheduled day. I hope that he will not be too overwhelmed or get too tired during the school day. He does really well at Awanas and Sunday school but those are only 2 1/2 and 1 hour classes, respectively. Like any change, I’m sure it will take some getting used to but I have confidence that he will be fine.

I think that is so exciting! I bet Sawyer will love it. I understand how you can feel a little sad about it though as well. It is always hard for me when I notice something that makes me realize how big my kids are getting.
