I find that it is very true for my kids that they need a routine to stick to every day. I notice how "off" their behavior can get just from small changes like going to church during normal nap time, etc.
Thanks for sharing what you heard at that workshop!

That is so funny about how Sawyer was measuring you. Sophia does the same thing with me. :)
Joshua waited until he was eight months before he started crawling too. That was fine with me because (like you with Cailey) I knew that as soon as that happened he wouldn't want me to hold him as much. :)

Cailey is almost caught up! Andi just had her 15 month check up. She is 28 3/4" 17.5 lbs. I was hoping she would weigh enough to turn her car seat around. I guess I have to wait another 6 months. She is such a great little girl. Maybe she will be a late walker like Andi and I won't have to feel left out with all the other little 12 month old kids running circles around her.

That's a great idea to look for discounted costumes after halloween to use for dress up.
I wonder if one of those play houses would fit in your basement...they have some really awesome ones that aren't very girly looking. Maybe a kids play tent would be fun.

That is THE cutest picture! She's just such a petite little girl.
I think I am finding that I am the same w/Joshua. Sophia always did things quickly and it might be because I was so eager to see her accomplish the next milestone I pushed her more. With Joshua, I can't help to feel like he is more of a "baby" in comparison to Sophia. I am happy to keep him tiny for as long as I can now that I know just how fast they grow up! :(

That's a cute bedtime story.
I had a odd night with Sophia last night as well. She woke up scared and then wanted me to lay with her. So I did until she fell asleep and then went back to my bed. Later she came in and laid next to me. I woke up so scrunched between her and Jason that I got up and slept in her bed (since it was already like 5:30am and I knew it would wake her up if I tried to move her). It was like we were playing musical beds! :)

BTW, Sawyer does look very handsome with his new haircut.

Amy - I know... the T & F trains are quite expensive. We didn't give him the trains every single time he did good. The trains were the bigger rewards, like a week or two of being successful w/ his night potty-training (or at least he shows us he is trying his best). We also have puzzles for bigger rewards for him. He is big enough that he can understand and appreciate the trait of "patience."

When he was younger though, we did the M&M treats (in addition, we can teach him his colors by giving him an extra M&M if he can correctly identify the color of the M&M candy) and stickers for him for when we started potty training him. That worked really well for us!

Your kids are so cute! I can't say it enough! It sounds like your church lessons turned out great. It is so nice that Sawyer has something like that to go to.
It also sounds like Sawyers doing great potty training! I've heard that the second child sometimes learns more quickly because they watch the older one. I hope that is the case for my kids. :)
I hope the gov't doesn't make kindergarten mandatory. I think it's nice that the parents have a choice about certain things regarding their children.

Laurie - Sawyer's rewards were Thomas and Friends trains, too. However, they are very expensive so we only did six and then I started buying some cheaper rewards (coloring books, stamps, etc.). I ran out of rewards yesterday so I gave Sawyer two pieces of candy and he seemed completely satisfied with that so maybe we will continue with the candy reward.

That is a good idea about waking the kids up at night. Maybe I will give that a try with Sawyer.

Awww... I love the 2nd picture of both your kids. They are soooooo adorable!!!! :)

I'm glad you are having an enjoyable summer. That is very sweet of you to share your baked goodies with your neighbor.

Also, I am proud of Sawyer too for being day potty-trained! We have been working on Jordan's night-time potty training and so far, this week he has had no accidents, and goes to the toilet himself. For a week or two I have been waking them up twice at night to take both him and Aubrey to use the toilet. Aubrey would wake up and go to our room to wake me up and ask me to help her do her in the toilet. Jordan's rewards are more Thomas & Friends trains, and a Thomas the Train bedding.
